At the entrance of the Take Me There: Egypt gallery is a large plane facade. I was responsible for creating a fun video package that gave the feeling the plane was flying, while serving as an introductory video package about the exhibit. Below is an image of the plane, and a schematic I used in explaining how this thing was going to work.

















We decided to create 3 (large) main monitors where a captain and flight attendant would talk to visitors. See video below. The actors were shot on green screen.



Accompanying these monitors we have another 7 monitors embedded into the windows of both sides of the plane. These monitors show an animated fly-over sequence of famous locations in Egypt (The Sphinx, Cairo, the Nile River, etc...). These monitors are synced with the 3 main monitors showcasing the flight attendant (She refers to these monitors in her dialogue so syncing was critical). See the animation below.

We also placed large bass speakers into the seats of the plane. They rumble and provide a sensation of light turbulence people feel when they fly. It's a really great effect, and it really helped the plane feel authentic.
